Xarxa d’Economia Solidària (XES) is a network of individuals and entities of Social and Solidarity Economy, born in 2003 and having as guiding principle the construction and promotion of other socio-economic relations. It is meant as a second-level nonprofit association, bringing together 140 organizations of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) and 101 individuals, representative of the ESS in Catalonia. Composed by organized practices related to activities of production, consumption, distribution, financing and care; committed to intercooperation and construction of social market. We develop several activities to strengthen SSE as a social fair held annually since 2012, a social audit system, specialized training programs, social innovation, community and networking projects and volunteer opportunities.
Currently as a result of a process of strategic planning, it is comprised by following committees and working areas: local networks and social commission; feminist economies; advocacy campaigns, training and external relations; and social market. The network grows slowly and consolidates itself as a reference for ESS in the region, currently works to promote a SSE law that invigorate and strengthen it.
